Fettuccine Alfredo

serves 4-5


1 pound fettuccine

1/2 cup butter (one stick), cut into cubes

1/2 cup Parmesan cheese

2/3 cup heavy cream

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon pepper


Cook pasta according to package directions. Reserve 1/4 cup cooking water and drain pasta.


Return pasta back to cooking pot over low heat.  Add butter, toss pasta to melt the butter.   Add cheese, reserved cooking water, cream, salt and pepper.  Stir well and garnish with additional cheese.
